Diehl Defence presents 'all in one' solution for air defense: IRIS-T SLS MK4

As part of the International Aerospace Exhibition ILA in Berlin, our client Diehl Defence is presenting the further development of its highly mobile air defense system IRIS-T SLS MK4. The short-range air defense system is specifically designed to protect troops on the move and critical infrastructure from aerial threats.

The system combines the components radar, C2 system, and launcher including effectors on a single vehicle, making it an 'all in one' solution. Key features of the IRIS-T SLS MK4 are the high degree of automation and the resulting low personnel requirement, enabling an extremely fast reaction time. The vehicle-independent design allows maximum flexibility for different customer requirements.

The proven IRIS-T air-to-air guided missile is used as the effector. It is also possible to integrate additional effectors, such as the C-UAV eMissile CICADA from Diehl Defense or a weapon station.

The BUSSE team was able to support on many levels: in the usability-optimized development of the entire HMI system, the software and interaction structure, as well as the definition and positioning and constructive connection of the entire controls in the vehicle up to the mechanical construction and the setup of the demonstrator of the rear vehicle construction including kinematics of the radar mast and launch containers.
